Duo Pleyel comprises of pianists Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya and Richard Egarr. They are a dynamic duo known for their captivating performances on both historic and modern instruments.

 

Named after their pet 1848 Pleyel piano, Duo Pleyel started exploring a wide musical spectrum of piano four-hands repertoire back in 2016. Having released three critically acclaimed recordings on Linn Records, they have now embarked on a colossal project: Duo Pleyel will be recording and releasing all of Beethoven's Symphonies arranged by Carl Czerny for piano four-hands, to be completed in 2027 for the occasion of Beethoven's 200th death year.

Their future concerts and recordings promise to delight audiences with exciting and varied musical adventures.

Following their superb Dussek album (5 stars in BBC Music Magazine ), Duo Pleyel’s Richard Egarr and Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya explore the seminal role a musical father figure can play in shaping another composer. From Mozart’s first meeting with Johann Christian Bach (the ‘London Bach’) as a young boy in England in 1764, an extraordinary musical bond was forged between the two great composers.
